Whitetail Junior Royale 2025

A youth-only, co-ed online deer hunting tournament
For kids age 8–17 | Hosted by Veila Outdoors

Tournament Dates:

Opening Day: Saturday, November 22, 2025 (coinciding with WV Youth & Gun Season)
Final Day to Submit Harvests: Sunday, December 15, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)
Winners Announced: Saturday, December 21, 2025

Who Can Enter

Youth hunters ages 8–17, with a valid hunting license or youth permit per their state.

This is a co-ed competition – all genders welcome!

Must be supervised by a licensed adult during the hunt (per state regulations).

Entry Fee: $20

Registration Deadline: November 20, 2025

All youth registrants will receive a printable Veila Outdoors participation award.

Entry Rules & Requirements

Legal Harvest Only

All deer must be taken during legal youth, archery, or firearms seasons in the participant's home state.

Any legal hunting method is accepted (bow, crossbow, rifle, muzzleloader, or shotgun) as long as it complies with state youth hunting laws.

Must be supervised by a licensed adult at all times.

Photo Submission Guidelines

Submit 2–3 photos by December 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST:

One photo of the youth hunter with the harvested deer and their gear.

One photo clearly showing the deer tag (if applicable in their state).

Optional: photo of the youth with their mentor or parent for bonus points!

Submissions must be uploaded to the form in your confirmation email.

Short Story Submission (Optional)

Youth can submit a short paragraph about their hunt — how it felt, what they learned, what made it special.

Bonus points may be awarded for creativity and effort!

Judging Criteria

Ethical Harvest & Shot Placement (20 pts)

Photo Quality & Sportsmanship (10 pts)

Conservation Effort (bonus 5 pts for does)

Story Submission (up to 5 bonus pts)

Entries will be judged anonymously by a 3-person Veila Outdoors panel.

Safety & Sportsmanship Rules

All state hunting regulations must be followed.

Unsafe behavior, unethical harvest, or false entries = automatic disqualification.

Parents or mentors must assist with safe handling and supervise all hunting activity.

Prize Categories

Junior Royale Champion – Highest judged score

Best Field Photo – Fun, clear, and respectful photo

Rookie of the Year – First-time hunter with a strong showing

Mentor Moment Award – Bonus prize for best optional photo with a parent or mentor

Youth Story Winner – Best hunt write-up or reflection

Agreement

By registering, you agree that:

All photos are real and taken during the legal 2025 season.

All participants were supervised by an adult.

You give Veila Outdoors permission to share winning entries and photos on our website and social media (with first names only, if preferred).

This is a positive, supportive competition — no size shaming, judgment, or gatekeeping.
